General Purpose: Clean up and streamline a blog left by a former employee (re-categorize, copy/paste, delete old content, etc.). Not necessary to provide content for the blog, simply reorganize the content left from the previous employee that created it.

Position overview: The Dodge City Convention and Visitors Bureau is looking for a person who can aid with digital marketing and event planning at the department. The intern will need to be creative on methods of promoting Dodge City through digital mediums such as host webpage, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and other outlets. During the internship the student may also be required to aid with event planning and visiting groups coordination. The ideal applicant would have an interest in tourism as well as event planning and marketing knowledge of social mediums. The student should be prepared to fill out an on-line application, provide a resume, and attend an in-person interview if their application is selected. Applicants should also possess a driver’s license, with good driving record. Hours of work will vary and are flexible, may include evenings and week-ends.
Essential Job Function:

  • Conduct digital and social media marketing
  • Aid with planning and execution of tourism events
  • Aid with visiting group coordination

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of social media and digital marketing back-end operations
  • Ability to write a press release or narrative
  • Organization or event planning skills

Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license, with good driving record
  •  Able to follow written or verbal directions in English
